"THE PARADOX OF LONGEVITY; Why some smokers outlive Non smokers"

 Although cigarette smoking is undeniably harmful,causing diseases like lung cancer, heart disease, and respiratory issues.

Not every smoker experiences the same fate. There are several reasons why some smokers live longer than certain non-smokers;

GENETIC VARIATION

Some people have genetic factors that make them more resilient to the negative effects of smoking, while others may have genetic predispositions to diseases unrelated to smoking.

LIFESTYLE AND DIET

A smoker who eats well, exercises, and avoids other harmful habits might have a longer lifespan than a non smoker with an unhealthy diet, excessive stress, or other risk factors.

MEDICINE

Modern medicine has improved treatments for smoking related illnesses, meaning some smokers might receive early interventions that prolong their lives.

STATISTICAL PROBABILITY

While smoking increases the risk of dying young, it does not mean every smoker will die early. Some smokers may live long simply due to chance, while some non smokers may suffer from unrelated health conditions.

EXPOSURE TO OTHER HAZARDS

Non smokers may face environmental factors such as air pollution, workplace hazards, or stress-related illnesses that negatively affect their health.

Irrespective of the above facts, the warning "Smokers are liable to die young" is still valid. it has been scientifically proven that smoking does increase health risks, even though individual cases vary. Longevity is influenced by a combination of genetics, habits, and environment, making it impossible to predict any one person’s lifespan easily.
